Run outside during the day for at least half a day.
Plug it in outside for at least 10 hours minimum. The coating heats up and produces an eye stinging chemical reaction. I left mine on all night outside (8 hours) it was so cold that the unit did not have a chance to heat up to the maximum temperature. So I ran it during the daytime. The smell is almost gone from the unit. And the eye burning chemical reaction is gone. DO NOT USE UNTIL UNIT IS PLUGGED IN AND TURNED ON OUTSIDE IN THE OPEN TO BURN OFF ANY CHEMICAL RESIDUE.
Takes the chill out of the air
This is much smaller than I expected, I didn't think it would heat up my 200 SQ ft bedroom which is so much colder than the rest of my house. Turns out I was wrong, I had to turn it off after an hour because it was getting too warm. I don't know if it'll work in the dead of winter during an Arctic blast when the wind is howling but it's doing well on a night where it's just above freezing and it's fairly windy
So nice I bought one twice
My bedroom in my mobile home is like 12ft by 11ft.. pretty small but it's keeps the room nicely warm with the door shut.. not to hot nor cold, perfect room temp. And my trailer is mad old and terrible insulation.. love it..also you can take it apart and vacuum it out with just a couple screws to remove, to keep it running the best..for $20 it's great
