Excellent, affordable, portable, with nice features.
Handy, works well, portable. Read instructions to figure out how to work the features. Good product. While the rest of the item is cool while in operation, the front where the hot air is blowing out is very warm. Even though you can put this closer than 3 feet to items and have no problems, the instructions do say to keep it three feet from other items. I believe that is standard safety advice. So, be aware that you'll need to be careful as with any heater. I feel this is much safer than many heaters, though. It won't catch anything on fire by just touching it for a second, but potentially it could heat something up. So, don't let it be right by anything flammable, particularly aerosol cans, paper, fabric, etc. I wouldn't put it on the floor of a child's room, but I would put it on the floor or on a desk for an adult's bedroom. Just place it carefully. I think you could put this on a purpose built shelf off the floor but you might want to also install a fan on the opposite side of the room or use a ceiling fan that blows air down to the floor so that the heat doesn't just stay at the top of the room. Be aware that as with any fan, this might dry your eyes out if it's blowing directly on you. I set it so it blows away from me and have no problem. The oscillation feature is also very nice. It doesn't actually work without heating, so you can't use it just as a fan. I'd love it if it did because then I'd only need one item year round. I have another, much larger fan of this type and brand for warm weather. Great brand. The thermostat on this is fantastic so you don't have to guess or constantly monitor. Love the remote though I haven't used it yet. My nonheating fan of this brand has one too, and it makes life easier. Also, if you put enough space between the heater and wet clothing for safety, you can use this with the oscillating feature to help dry clothing on a rack or hanging someplace. It really makes a difference. I have aimed it into my bathroom from the hall and aimed it at towels and other items hanging on a rod I installed in the shower, and it helps them dry much faster rather than get mildewy in the winter. While I wouldn't use it around water so don't actually put it in the bathroom, when we're not using the bathroom and want to dry it out, putting this in the hall aimed into the bathroom helps. I do not have small children or pets in my household, and this might be less practical if it's more likely to get knocked over. Another thing I do is aim this at windows that tend to get mold around the edges from condensation in the winter due to being single paned. Mold is extremely dangerous to your health and is a carcinogen, and the bleach you might use to get rid of it also has a carcinogentic component. So, if you can wipe off those windows in the morning and then aim this heater fan from a distance at those windows afterward or even at night to prevent the buildup, you can reduce the mold. I live in a tiny city efficiency in an extremely expensive part of town, and so I am learning to deal with substandard housing conditions to avoid a time-consuming and stressful commute. This little heater fan allows me to skip using the ancient gas heater my landlord maintains, even keeping the pilot light off all year. Without the thermostat, this wouldn't work. Mind you, I live in Los Angeles and freezing temps are not the rule. So, we keep it mostly off during the day as we heat up this little place just cooking and showering, and then we put it on at night or anytime it's especially cool. It's a way we can avoid the burnoff chemicals and the fire risk of putting furniture close to the gas heater which is in an awkward place. While it's a hassle to have to do it, this little machine makes life easier. After we move from here, I can see using this for a bedroom while keeping the main house heat much lower at night or using it in a home office when others are gone, just to be comfy without heating up the whole house.
